Mr. Daniel Watson

Daniel Watson is a versatile teacher and musician living in Central Indianapolis with over a decade in the industry. In his fourth year at Greenwood, he serves as the Director of Choirs teaching HS Choirs, Beginning Piano, and 8th Grade Choir.

 Mr. Watson is also an Associate Faculty of Voice at the IUPUI Department of Music and Arts Technology. Mr. Watson is the owner of Daniel Watson Music (danielscottwatson.com) where he maintains an active private music studio and is regularly collaborating and performing in the community through conducting, piano and vocal performance, and composing.

Mr. Watson previously worked for five years as the Director of Music at Covenant Christian High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where he taught choirs, band, and music theory. He recently completed his NCSA Graduate Fellowship, earning his Masters of Arts in Education in Instruction and Curriculum Design at York College, with a research focus in behavioral, cognitive, and emotional student engagement. Mr. Watson graduated magna cum laude from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education studying piano, voice, and composition. As a collaborative musician in Indianapolis, Mr. Watson is also a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Indiana Choral Directors Association, and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Mr. Watson received the Outstanding Future Music Educator Award of 2015 from the Indiana Music Education Association as well as the NAfME National Professional Achievement Award in 2014 and 2015. 

Mr. Watson can be found singing tenor in the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir with his wonderful wife, Bethany, at the Hilbert Circle Theatre and the Palladium. He has performed and directed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and various university campuses. Mr. Watson’s passion for music education aims to foster lifelong passions, memorable moments, and transformation.

Miss Caitlin Lincourt

Caitlin Lincourt is currently in her 15th year of teaching in the Greenwood Community School Corporation. She is the middle school choir, with three distinct choirs and a junior vocal jazz choir, as well as the sixth grade General Music teacher.

 She is also the director of the middle school musical held in the fall of each year. Miss Lincourt graduated magna cum laude from Indiana State University with a degree in Music Education. 

Miss Lincourt is active in several professional music organizations. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME, local chapter IMEA). Many of her students have been a part of the Honor choir at IMEA. She also is currently involved in Area 5 Middle School Circle the State with Song (CSWS) program. In the summer of 2018, she traveled to Europe with the Indiana Ambassadors of Music as a staff director and plans to go again in the summer of 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, and sewing, and is active in community theatre as an actress and vocal director.

Ms. Lisa Knartzer

Music Department Secretary

Ms. Lisa (Mom) Knartzer has been the music department secretary for Greenwood High School since 2012. She does a wide variety of tasks for both the choir and the band, as well as the theater department. She has always enjoyed the arts, being in the color guard, show choir, and several musicals at her alma mater, Beech Grove High School. Ms. Knartzer’s daughters, Ashley and Allison, were in the Greenwood band during the 2007-2012 years. During those years Ms. Knartzer began her time in the music department as a “Box Mom”, assisting the students with their uniforms. The following year, she became the band camp chairperson and head chaperone until she was hired as the music department secretary.

Ms. Knartzer loves getting to know the students and their parents and being a part of these programs.

Mrs. Betsey Cox

Collaborative Pianist

Betsey Cox has always had a passion for music. She began taking piano lessons at an early age and began accompanying and teaching private piano lessons in high school. She continued pursuing music in college and graduated in 2011 with a B.S. in Church Music.

This is her 7th year at GHS and she loves the opportunity to daily collaborate with students to positively influence them to become better musicians and humans. In addition to her work at Greenwood, Betsey has accompanied the NATS student auditions and has served on several church worship teams as pianist, keyboardist, and vocalist. Betsey and her husband, Jon, have three girls: Eleanor, Genevieve, and Alexandria and they are also a foster family so you might see 1 or 2 extra kids following them around at any given time.
