Concert Choir is Greenwood’s non-auditioned choir. This group returned to the choir curriculum three years ago, and since that time has earned Gold ratings at ISSMA Organizational contest and performed throughout the school year as part of the choir schedule. Students in concert choir have made this beginning ensemble rather advanced through their great efforts in class and in performance. This choir meets in two separate periods during the school day and combines together for performances.
Jade is an auditioned 24 voice advanced vocal jazz choir comprised of students in grades 10-12. The choir is in its 5th year of existence and has already made quite a name for itself. Jade performs at many festivals, community performances, and competitions. Since ISSMA began Vocal Jazz State Finals in the spring of 2016, Jade has qualified as one of the top 8 vocal jazz choirs in the state each year. In addition to being a state finalist for three years in a row, in 2018 they also received caption awards at Jazz State for Most Outstanding Alto Section and Most Outstanding Bass Section.
Rhapsody is an auditioned 75 voice advanced mixed choir comprised of students in grades 9-12. They perform a wide variety of concert literature at a very high level of difficulty. In 2018, Rhapsody qualified for ISSMA Concert State Finals for the first time since 1989 and received 10th place. This ensemble consistently earns Gold ratings with distinction at ISSMA Organizational events. Along with performing at ISSMA events and Greenwood High School Choir Concerts, Rhapsody also performs at outside festivals and competitions such as the University of Indianapolis Choral Festival and Franklin High School’s Showfest. This year, Rhapsody will also be competing at Franklin Central’s Hoosier Show Choir Classic in the Concert Choir division.
Revery is an auditioned 45 voice intermediate treble choir comprised of students in grades 9-12. They perform a wide variety of concert literature at a high level of difficulty. In 2018, Revery (then Treble Choir) qualified for ISSMA Concert State Finals for the first time in school history and earned the 6th place position. Along with performing at ISSMA events and Greenwood High School Choir Concerts, Revery will also be competing at Franklin Central’s Hoosier Show Choir Classic in the Concert Choir division.
